Frequently Asked Questions
Answers drawn from the specification sheet and vendor terms.
Which AI companion app ranks highest on ChatCompare?
Nomi AI ranks first at 4.2. Desire AI (desireai.app) appears separately as our featured partner and is not rated or ranked.
What is the cheapest AI companion app?
Free options aside, Swipey AI Premium is $7.99 a month, and CrushOn AI Standard is $58.88 a year (about $4.91 a month). Candy AI's yearly plan is $47.88 (about $3.99 a month) but includes only 100 tokens a month for media.
Which AI companion apps have a free tier?
Desire AI (our featured partner; free during beta), SpicyChat AI (no daily cap), Erogen AI (~600 messages a day), CrushOn AI (unlimited basic models), Nectar AI (~15 messages a day), DreamGF (10–50 a day via a streak) and Kupid AI (15 messages) all have free access of some kind. OurDream AI offers only a one-time coin trial.
Which apps support voice calls?
According to vendor pages and 2026 reviews, Nomi AI, OurDream AI, Erogen AI, Candy AI, Swipey AI, Honeybot AI, FantasyGF, DreamGF and Nectar AI (on Ultimate) offer calls. Most bill calls per minute in tokens or credits. Nomi includes them in its plan.
Do AI companion apps use my chats to train AI?
Some say they do. Joi AI's policy says messages are used to improve replies and develop its AI, and FantasyGF says conversations may be used to improve its models. Nectar AI says chats are not used to train external models. Check each policy before sharing personal details.
Can I get a refund from an AI companion app?
Usually not. Most terms say fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. FantasyGF is an exception, with refunds if you cancel before the next billing period. Candy AI allows a refund only within about 24 hours and with 20 or fewer tokens used. EU and UK buyers have a 14-day statutory withdrawal right on first purchases.
What is the Featured partner?
Desire AI is our featured partner: a promotional placement above the comparison, owned by ChatCompare's operator and not rated or ranked. On the facts, its advantages are zero signup and no token wallet. Its disadvantages are browser-bound memory, beta limits and no paid plans yet.
How often is the comparison updated?
The specification sheet was checked in October 2026. Prices and limits in this category change monthly, so the vendor's checkout page is the final authority.
Are ChatCompare's pages explicit?
No. The comparisons are written in non-explicit language, but the apps are adult products and the site is for adults 18+ only.
